Full Moon over Takanawa — Hiroshige
"Full Moon over Takanawa" (c. 1831) from Hiroshige's Famous Places in the Eastern Capital: a line of geese crossing the night sky under a full moon above the shore houses of Takanawa, an early masterpiece. The sky's gradation from sunset to night makes a beautiful wallpaper.

About this wallpaper
"Full Moon over Takanawa" (c. 1831) from Famous Places in the Eastern Capital, cropped to 9:16 from the Cleveland Museum of Art's impression. A large full moon at the top with a line of geese crossing it; the sky grades from ink at the top to sunset orange lower down, and the houses of the Takanawa shore with figures on the road fill the bottom. The vertical crop takes the moon and geese from the landscape original.
On the home screen
The middle sky is a plain gradation, so icons there still leave the moon, the geese and the houses below visible.
On the lock screen
The top is ink sky, but the moon is large and bright, so clock legibility depends on placement.
Colors and mood
A sunset gradation of ink, gray-blue and orange, with the white of the moon and the brown of the houses.
