About this wallpaper
Keisai Eisen's "A Distant View of Snow on the Sumida River" (early 1830s), cropped to 9:16 from the Cleveland Museum of Art's impression. A snowy bank with figures under umbrellas in front, the blue river with roofed boats in the middle, snow-covered houses on the far bank and a gray sky above. The contrast of blue and white carries the picture, with few lines. The vertical crop takes the center of the landscape original.
On the home screen
The middle band of river is quiet, so icons there still leave the boats and banks visible above and below.
On the lock screen
The top is a fairly light gray sky, so a white clock loses some contrast.
Colors and mood
River blue, snow white and sky gray, with the brown of the boats.
