About this wallpaper
Keisai Eisen's "Carp Ascending a Waterfall", cropped to 9:16 from the Cleveland Museum of Art's impression. The original is a tall sheet, so the composition is almost intact: a blue waterfall pours from top to bottom and a gray carp arches its body against the flow, climbing. The spray is left white, and the background sinks from deep blue to ink. Few lines — the picture works through the blue field and the shape of the fish.
On the home screen
The carp is in the middle with water above and below, so icons at the top or bottom leave the fish visible.
On the lock screen
The top is medium-bright blue water; a white clock is readable but fades over the spray.
Colors and mood
Deep blue and ink, the white of the spray and the gray of the carp.
