About this wallpaper
Hokusai's "Carp Swimming by Water Weeds" (1831), cropped from the Cleveland Museum of Art's impression. The original is a tall sheet, so the 9:16 crop keeps the composition nearly intact: two carp twist through the upper and lower parts of the sheet with slender water weeds swaying between them. The water is graded blue, the carp are drawn in gray and ink scales, and nothing else clutters the picture.
On the home screen
The carp are at the top and bottom with only weeds in the middle, so icons in the middle band leave both fish visible.
On the lock screen
The top is a carp's back and deep blue water, dark enough for a white clock to read clearly, though it overlaps the fish.
Colors and mood
Shades of blue with the gray and ink of the carp and the green of the weeds.
