Kagurazaka Street after a Night Rain — Yoshida Hiroshi
"Kagurazaka Street after a Night Rain" (1929) from Yoshida Hiroshi's Twelve Scenes of Tokyo: shop lights mirrored on the wet street of Kagurazaka at night. Mostly dark, so the clock and icon labels both read well.

About this wallpaper
"Kagurazaka Street after a Night Rain" (1929) from Yoshida Hiroshi's Twelve Scenes of Tokyo, cropped to 9:16 from the Cleveland Museum of Art's impression. The sloping street runs into the distance up the middle, and the lights of the shops on either side stretch in long reflections across the wet paving. A few figures walk under umbrellas; the night sky is ink, and only the lamps bleed yellow. The original is a tall sheet, so the composition is almost intact.
On the home screen
The night sky at the top is plain ink, so icons grouped there leave the lamplit street visible.
On the lock screen
The top is a darkish ink night sky, so a white clock reads fairly well.
Colors and mood
Ink and gray, with the yellow and orange of the lamps and the white of the umbrellas.
