About this wallpaper
"Cloth-Fulling Jewel River in Settsu" (1857) from Six Jewel Rivers of the Provinces, cropped to 9:16 from the Cleveland Museum of Art's impression. A full moon and indigo night sky at the top, the blue river and trees of the far bank in the middle, and women beating cloth in a riverside house at the bottom. The original is a vertical sheet, so the crop keeps the composition almost intact; the blues of sky and river fill most of the sheet, with the lamplight and clothing as small warm notes.
On the home screen
The middle band of river is quiet, so icons there still leave the moon above and the figures below visible.
On the lock screen
The top is indigo night sky, but the full moon is bright, so clock legibility depends on placement.
Colors and mood
Indigo and blue, with small notes of moon white, lamp yellow and red in the clothing.
