Birch Bark Texture
White and dark bands of birch bark weave together in a close-up of peeling, mottled texture. The crisp black-and-white contrast recalls the cool poise of a northern forest.

About this wallpaper
The bark runs in horizontal layers across the frame, pale strips flaking over darker rough patches, in a nearly monochrome mix. The peeling surface is finely detailed. The bark's texture is the whole subject.
On the home screen
The bark is fairly even, so icons read best where the darker patches gather.
On the lock screen
The top mixes light and dark bark, so a clock with an outline reads most reliably.
Colors and mood
Birch white and black-brown, crisp and monochrome.
