Change your wallpaper automatically every morning — the daily wallpaper API and Shortcuts setup

Drift Wallpapers has a "wallpaper of the day": one image chosen by the date (Japan time) that changes every day. Register the URL that returns it in the Shortcuts app on iPhone or an automation app on Android, and your wallpaper changes by itself every morning. Pick a purpose and a device below to draw only from wallpapers that pass that test.

1. Build your URL

Purpose Device (optional — a foldable or Watch draws from wallpapers that suit a near-square screen)

2. On iPhone, with the Shortcuts app

Open the Shortcuts app, go to Automation → + → Time of Day, pick a daily time (say 7:00) and "Run Immediately".
Add the action "Get Contents of URL" and paste the image URL you copied above.
Add "Set Wallpaper", use "Contents of URL" as its input, and choose the lock screen, home screen or both. Turn off "Show Preview" so it changes without asking.
Run it once by hand to confirm the wallpaper changes. "Set Wallpaper" works with a wallpaper created from a photo (the screens differ slightly between iOS versions).

3. On Android

In an automation app such as MacroDroid or Tasker, create a daily 7:00 trigger with two actions: an HTTP GET that saves the image to a file, then "Set Wallpaper" with that file. Use the image URL above as-is. The image is a 9:16 JPEG, so the phone crops the sides a little (each device page lists the exact crop).
